To simplify the care process, it is important to have the proper tools on hand. If you are caring for Human Hair Prosthetic Wigs or Augment Systems, you will need a canvas block head, a block holder, and T-Pins.

 To care for Studio Hair® Wig/Hair Systems made of human hair, it is best to use the recommended products listed above. Avoid using products that contain oils, waxes, silicon, or parabens for the best results.

Our wigs are made of the highest quality human hair, and with proper care, they can provide you with many enjoyable wears. To get the maximum life-span and performance from your wig, follow the instructions below. Our human hair prosthetics come uncut, so have your stylist cut it to perfection while ensuring it is positioned properly during the haircut. There are adjustment straps at the back nape to adjust the fit, and the front of the wig should sit where your natural hairline would be. There are two points, one on each side, that should sit in the same spot on each side. Roll those points inward. Human hair wigs must be trimmed and styled when taken out of the box.

For the care of wigs, use Wig Care Conditioner, Wig CARE Gel, Wig Styling Spray, and a Professional Cushioned Paddle Brush.

Studio Hair® Wig/Hair System Care (Human Hair):
To wash the wig, first brush it carefully to remove tangles using a cushioned paddle brush with ball-tipped nylon pins. Avoid plastic brushes as they can be rigid and damage the knots and base. Never use bristle or wire brushes. Hold the wig from the top inside front and wet it down with cool to tepid water. Apply shampoo followed by conditioner, distributing each evenly from the top through to the ends.

Alternatively, hold the wig or hair system in your hand and use your sink's sprayer or under your faucet. Place shampoo in your palm and work it through the hair evenly, always in one direction from top to ends. Rinse thoroughly with cool water. Repeat with conditioner, applying it throughout the hair and ends, avoiding the roots. Once a month, use a deep conditioner in the same manner.
This process also applies to augment pieces and toppers.
After washing, lay the wig on a clean towel and press gently to remove excess water. Return it to a canvas block head, center it, and secure it with T-pins or mini small head pins, avoiding any skin or top lace areas.
For partial hair systems with comb locks, secure it through the comb locks. When wet, brush the hair gently and create the desired parting with a comb. Apply a salon-quality gel or Gel Mousse evenly through the hair to the ends. Gel helps protect the hair and seal the cuticle.
Brush again and allow to air dry completely for soft, silky hair. Once dry, brush through the wig or hair system again. Avoid excessive heat to prevent drying out the hair.
