Compassionate Support for Medical Hair Loss
Serving individuals experiencing hair loss due to cancer treatment and medical conditions
You Are Not Alone
Hair loss related to cancer treatment can be one of the most emotional and personal parts of the journey. It can affect how you see yourself, how you feel in public, and how you move through the world—often at a time when so much already feels out of your control.
Studio Hair Prosthetics exists to support individuals facing medical hair loss with compassion, privacy, and respect.
We specialize in custom cranial hair prostheses—medical hair replacements designed specifically for people experiencing hair loss due to chemotherapy, radiation, and other medical conditions.
What We Offer
-
Private, One‑on‑One Appointments
All consultations are confidential and conducted in a calm, supportive environment. We understand that this experience can be emotionally sensitive, and we move at your pace. -
Custom Cranial Hair Prostheses
Each prosthesis is individually measured and designed for comfort, security, and a natural appearance—especially for sensitive or changing scalps during treatment. -
Trauma‑Informed, Compassionate Care
We work with empathy and without judgment. There is no pressure, no rush, and no expectation to “know what you want” right away. -
Education & Gentle Guidance
We explain options clearly and honestly, including care, maintenance, and realistic expectations—so you feel informed, not overwhelmed. -
Insurance & Documentation Support
Cranial hair prostheses are considered a medical device, not a cosmetic item. We assist with medically appropriate documentation that may help with insurance reimbursement, when applicable.
Who We Support
We work with individuals experiencing hair loss due to:
- Chemotherapy or radiation therapy
- Breast cancer and other cancer treatments
- Alopecia related to medical conditions
- Autoimmune or hormonal disorders
- Surgery, trauma, or long‑term medical conditions
Caregivers and loved ones are always welcome to be part of the process.
Our Philosophy
We believe that restoring hair—when someone chooses to—can help restore:
- A sense of identity
- Confidence during treatment and recovery
- Emotional comfort during a vulnerable time
There is no “right” way to experience hair loss, and no obligation to pursue replacement. We are simply here as a supportive option for those who want it.
Getting in Touch
If you or someone you support would like more information, we are happy to answer questions with care and discretion.

Back in the 1990s to 2014 we had the extraordinary privilege of collaborating with Madame Tussauds Wax Museum here in San Francisco. At the heart of their collection was the legendary Titanic exhibit—a centerpiece that continues to captivate visitors to this day.
Our relationship with the museum grew into something far deeper than a single project. We were honored to serve as Honorary Directors for more than two decades, a role that allowed us to contribute to one of the city’s most iconic cultural institutions and witness its evolution from the inside.
